9 Email Sales Tools

We’ve been doing some digging over the last year to uncover secrets to a highly functional email environment worthy of the best sellers. We’re talking about pro-moves you can implement with email that can gather analytics, increase productivity and make life (and sales) a lot easier.

What we’ve found:

#1 Yesware

Yesware is Email for Sales People. They recognize it’s annoying not knowing if your prospects received your last email. Wouldn’t you like to just know if people had opened your email and clicked through the links? YesWare allows you to tracks your emails right from your own email client. It allows you to receive alerts and reports on activity and has custom email templates which you can use to quickly send to prospects at every step of the sales process.

#2 Bananatag

This tool is very similar to Yesware in its ability to track emails. Bananatag also allows you to set and manager email notifications on opens, clicks and contact behavior.

#3 Streak

Streak brands itself as CRM in your inbox. It allows you to group emails from the same customer together so history with that prospect is neatly organized. It additionally allows you to schedule emails, categorize the prospect’s stage in the sales cycle and create a pipeline spreadsheet that you can view right within Gmail.

#4 Rapportive

Rapportive provides rich contact profiles inside Gmail. This plugin installs as a sidebar next to your inbox. Whenever you receive an email from someone, you will see a picture, their latest tweets and links to their LinkedIn, Facebook, etc. Bonus – you can also use Rapportive to guess email addresses.

#5 Cirrus Insight

Cirrus Insight is like Rapportive for salesforce.com. Not only does it allow you to see rich contact information to those you’re emailing, but also allows you to update their CRM record and your calendar in the sidebar.

#6 Xobni

The Smartr tool by Xobni analyzes your contact information on your phone, email, and online networks. It builds complete profiles with contact info, social updates, message history and common contacts for every person you’ve communicated with.

#7 Boomerang

Boomerang is a Chrome/Firefox plugin that lets you schedule your outbound email and archives important messages and later “boomerangs” them back to your inbox. The latter feature is an especially neat way to remind you of important messages and conversations without cluttering up your inbox.

#8 LinkedIn for Outlook

Similar to Rapportive for Gmail, LinkedIn for Outlook is a plugin that provides rich contact information inside your email client. It also will help you auto-fill email addresses when typing them in, and gives you a one-click way to initiate a connection request.

#9 Keyboard Shortcuts
